The park if focused on the natural world and aims to not only provide opportunities for humans to learn about and gain an appreciation for marine animals, but also gives humans and marine animals the opportunity to interact with one another. The park delivers a powerful message about the importance of education and conservation, mixed with tons of fun and entertainment. The organization is committed to improving the marine world, and they are very involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of various species of marine animals. They also organize and sponsor beach cleanups, as well as a Green Mountain event, and involves the planting of thousands of trees throughout the Algarve each year.
Shows at Zoomarine
The biggest attractions at Zoomarine are the incredible presentations. The Dolphins is, by far, the favorites. Together with their trainers, the dolphins put on demonstrations that showcase their intelligence and their agility, and that highlight the very special bonds that the majestic creatures have with their trainers.
Another key attraction is the Wonderful World, a presentation that features seals, sea lions, sailors, and lost treasures. This interactive show always gets the audience laughing, and it’s certain that everyone in your party – particularly children – will be sure to be dazzled and delighted by the antics of the animals and the sailors. The Enchanted Forest is a presentation during which tropical birds take center state. The birds are breathtaking on their own, but they also showcase their abilities as they work with their trainers. While the show is most certainly entertaining, the trainers promote awareness of the environment and conservation throughout.
Another bird-focused presentation, the Birds of Prey, is both dramatic and awe-inspiring. You’ll have the chance to get up-close and personal with these powerful and majestic creatures. There’s a 4D cinema show, too. This immersive show follows the adventures of a baby dolphin, and will make you feel as if you’re right there with him! Head over to Pirate Bay, where you can watch the acrobatic antics of a group of swashbuckling pirates as they duel each other over a treasure.
Water Attractions
As if all of the above weren’t enough, there’s more to enjoy at Zoomarine! There’s a full waterpark, which includes water slides, pools, and a wave pool. A soft, white sand beach, set amidst a lush, tropical garden, is a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and to soak up the sun and the beautiful weather that the Algarve is famous for. A children’s water play area is the perfect place for the little ones in your party to enjoy. Other attractions include a Ferris wheel and carrousels, and you can even feed sting rays by hand!
